In 8 simple steps: put your pictures in the limelight!

1. Choose a topic

Which image is important to you? Which still and which pictures do you want to combine?
The selection of your pictures is at the beginning of each hanging. What do you want to highlight?
Is there a theme for your image selection? Is the colour of the works important or are there similar motifs in terms of content?
A self-contained hanging looks particularly expressive.

2. Determine the location of your hanging

What wall should the works hang on?
Are there larger wall surfaces and should your pictures come into their own in a certain place?
Larger image formats require more space, smaller image formats also work in smaller rooms.
In both cases, a colour neutral wall is suitable. Do you have a colorful patterned wallpaper?

3. the right light

Changing daylight or artificial lighting strongly influence the colour and detail of their motifs.
Avoid dark corners or direct sunlight that can bleach your favorite picture.

4. Involve your institution

For a harmonious hanging, the proportions of your facility play a crucial role:
Large-format images look optimal via massive dressers, in addition to a filigree side table of smaller formats.
Rule of thumb: The image or ensemble of the hanging is 2/3 to 3/4 as wide as the piece of furniture.
Leave your hanging enough space so that it can unfold, e.g. above the sofa,
a distance between the upper edge of the sofa and the bottom of the frame of the picture from 20 to 30 cm is sufficient.

What height should your images hang at? What room should your pictures hang in?
